Righteous Free Enterprise- What is the purpose of money?

Power is ability. The word in the Bible in Greek is dunamis. Dunamis is the word for power, ability, fortitude, enablement, the verb form means "empower" or enable. There are many forms of power. There is physical strength, talent, pursuasiveness (political power), position power, situational power, (the power of opportunity) financial power, intellectual power, knowledge, etc.

But what is the purpose of power? Why does it exist?

Power is ability, and it has energy, or "stored work" in it, that when applied, something happens. Power, therefore, has force, impact. It is an asset.

Where does it come from? It is either bestowed, as a gift, or acquired, through effort.

You know people that are physically "built". You know others who lifted weights to get "built". Both people have physical strength.

You know people who inherited millions, and people who started a company and earned it.

You know of people who could read at age 2 and got all A's and 800's on their SAT's and you know people who busted their tail to make the Dean's list.

All of these people are powerful, they have created situations or are in situations where they have stored energy.

As I said power is either earned or given. The giver is God in both cases. If you are "endowed" with intelligence it came from God. But if you have the "unction" or drive to learn, or the "call", that ALSO is from God. So either way God is the Giver.

But what is the purpose of all this power?

Power only has one purpose-- to use it for Good.

The word Good, agathos in Greek, means beneficial, profitable, generous, beneficent., virtuous.

Mostly power should be used to empower. In other words, power's highest and best use, is to use it to help others to develop their ability, to equip them for their highest and best Good.

So financial power is no different. It is like all other power to be used for GOOD, which means to empower people for THEIR highest and BEST Good. Of course this includes the person who has the power. But as you will find as you pursue this, the law of the "talents" is always in play with our power. Matthew 25: 15-28.

So don't just give, be a good (profitable, beneficial, valuable) empowerer. Use you power, no matter what it is, for the GOOD of others, and you will receive many times more. Rom 2:7-11.

So not only is it RIGHTEOUS to use your power for Good, it is profitable or GOOD for you as well.

Talk about a win-win.
