Righteouse Free Enterprise- More About Freedom

Freedom without the Law is anarchy.


The Law without Freedom is tyranny.


Therein lies the paradox of Righteous Free Enterprise and of our Representative Republic. We are, completely free. Yet, without restraint, our freedom eventually leads to our destruction. But how do we restrain it? This restraint needs to come from our free choice. If it is imposed upon us externally, it is tyranny.

This "imposed" restraint is the idea behind present-day liberalism and to some on the Religous Far Right. There are those who see the need for order in our midst and they have decided that THEY should be the ones to bring it......on everyone else. As you read on you see why this is a stupid idea.

As I said before the best restraint is SELF-RESTRAINT. This self restraint, or "self government" as James Madison put it is based on our understanding of our "fallen nature". We lack, we are imperfect, we cannot attain that which we can envision on our own. We need help. This points to the deception implied in Secular Humanism. Man is Good- NOT. Man may intend to be good, but we cannot be good on our own. We can do good things, but our essential nature, apart from God is to stumble, and fall, eventually and repeatedly. We fall short.


This is why the best use of our freedom is to choose self-government which is also called self-discipline based on a commitment to a higher Law. Doing so, as Madison points out is the key to preserving the Country and in my view to fulfilling our potential. It is paradoxical that our willingness to FREELY place our freedom under the "governance" of the exact same God who freely gives it, is the essential task of a Human-kind. But it is the truth.


We are given freedom by God, who then ASKS us (God is the ultimate gentleman) to freely place that freedom under his WISDOM, and HE will guide our steps down the path that He has laid out beforehand.
