The Components of Righteous Enterprise -
As part of our Foundation we provide consulting. In our consulting work with you we will focus on Since you will profit well from them, I will profit from teaching and empowering you. (The worker is worth his wages.)
Righteous Enterprise is God’s plan for business and all organizations, including churches. But as a pastor, business owner or operator what does it look like? How does Righteous Enterprise work?
First, in all you do, let your faith and belief in God INFORM your behavior. This “letting” is submission. When you submit your business to God, you are “letting” Him. This is true in your person as well. Your character and person is shaped and formed (or transformed) to the degree you “let” God.
Righteous Enterprise begins with
A Core Purpose. - Why does your business or organization exist? How is the world better because your business exists? How would it be worse if your business didn’t exist? What is your business or organization really really good at? How does this “competence” impact the world? What are you passionate about? These are the type of questions that the answers to will lead to defining and articulating your company’s Core Purpose. This purpose will also become or lead to your “Value Proposition” which is what you’re “REALLY SELLING”. Bill Bright's Core Purpose at Campus Crusade- To know Christ and make Him known. Walt Disney's Core Purpose was (and IS) "to make people happy". Sam Walton's Core Purpose was "To help regular people buy the same things as rich people."- today that is "Save Money, Live Better."

CORE VALUES: what do you as the business owner really believe about how YOU do business. What morals, principles, values, beliefs, tenets, do you base YOUR decisions on? There are between 3-6 core beliefs or principles that you will not compromise, they are "hills you're willing to die on". You need to identify and articulate them. They must be REAL not “hoped for”. You can shoot for the ideals you hope for, but begin with what is TRUE. Be authentic. Your employees or associates will love you for it, even if they don’t agree. And, you will be telling the truth which has a great deal of power. We will help you express them in ways people can DO them, which is their true power.
The RIGHT PEOPLE: Next, we help you build your organization.. Your organization is how you utilize work functions and talent. We will help you to find the RIGHT people. The right people are your biggest asset, the wrong ones (the ones that don't fit) are your biggest liability. There is a specific process for doing this well. It is called The Selection Process. Ultimately you want your people to align with the purpose and values of your organization. The three parts of the process are:
- Competence- people that can do the job
- Character- they fit the core purpose and values
- Chemistry- their personality is fit for their work group.
Specific Expectation and Outcomes-
Your organization needs to have well defined outcomes that are clear, concise and beneficial to your core purpose. Ideally these outcomes should DESCEND out of your VISION, but you may not have that determined yet, and that is ok. Your purpose will dictate to a very large extent the OUTCOMES you need to accomplish. Primarily your JOB DESCRIPTIONS should be outcome based NOT tactics or procedural. Each job should have a purpose that helps fulfill your CORE purpose, otherwise why does it exist? The RIGHT people will want you to give them a “RESPONSIBILITY” and then let them bring their talent, skill and good character to bringing that responsibility about. Lesser people will need direction. The RIGHT people will need a diminishing amount over time.
CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVING BEST PRACTICES-
This is where the idea of LEAN comes in. The three OUTCOMES of LEAN are Faster, Better, Cheaper. With the RIGHT people LEAN will happen. But you can kill it if you don’t measure well, or have a unproductive feedback loop. If you blame people instead of focusing on solutions you will lose good people and you will not be successful. Six Sigma is a great process. It puts the focus where it needs to be, on the problem and the solution, not who. We have a whole series of Best Practices that we can help you implement and continuously improve.
VISION-
If you wear glasses, take them off right now and notice how out of focus the world is. When your VISION is good you can really see clearly can’t you? This is true. The clearer, the more detailed your END STATE description is, the more likely you are to achieve it.
Here is what SONY said about it’s end state back in1954, just 8 years after having their butts kicked in WW II:
SONY's VISION - 1954
Sony Core Purpose- To experience the sheer joy of innovation and the application of technology for the benefit and pleasure of the general public.
Vision Statement Elevation of the Japanese national culture and status.
Being a pioneer—not following others, but doing the impossible.
Respect and encouragement of individual ability and creativity.
Become the company most known for changing the worldwide image of Japanese products as being of poor quality.
Sony Vision Clarity
We will create products that become pervasive around the world. … We will be the first Japanese company to go into the American market and distribute directly. … We will succeed with innovations like the transistor radio that American companies have failed at. … Fifty years from now, our brand name will be as well known as any on Earth. … and will signify innovation and quality that rivals the most innovative companies anywhere. … “Made in Japan” will mean something fine, not shoddy.

My Take- It’s really difficult to miss the point with a Vision like that and guess what, they accomplished it!!! You may have a vision right now. Or, you may construct it with your people. But how you obtain it, is not the issue. THAT you obtain it will determine HOW YOU CHANGE THE WORLD.
My vision is to bring forth Righteous Enterprise. My passion is to help you!
