"God's Work In Progress"
Do you have a life's purpose? Do you know that you were created with a purpose? That you were create ON purpose? Your purpose is your "life's work" it is meant to be the over-arching, guiding force that leads you in the work you do, the jobs you work in, and the excellence you achieve. It is vital and lifegiving and it imperative that you find and fulfill it. It is NOT a job, as purpose is expressed through a job. But it is a "job" so big it will take a lifetime to do.
A Life's Work.
And I have found the way.
Your purpose is NOT a secret. God intends for you to live it. What a mean terrible God we would serve if he wanted to keep His purpose and plan for your life from you? This very idea of keeping your purpose a secret, opposes EVERY attribute about a Good God who "reveals all things." So with this fact in mind let me assist you in the pursuit and identification of living a life of His purpose.
First let me re-state that God has a purpose for your life, a reason you exist. But you ask: How can God have a purpose for my life? Me? He had one for Jesus and Jesus is the model for us all to follow as a human being. Jesus said he came not to condemn the world but to SAVE it. He quoted Isaiah 61 in the synagogue to specifically tell us how that purpose would be fulfilled. Our Opposer has a purpose to "steal, kill and destroy". (John 10:10). Paul was a purposeful person (do a word search of purpose and see how many times it comes up), also Moses, (let my people go) as were Billy Graham and Mother Teresa, and Jeff Pelletier. So are you. Rick Warren wrote an entire book about the importance of living a "Purpose Driven Life". This is key because your real purpose will drive your life and is meant to do so.

I am writing this to tell you that your purpose is alive and real if you are willing to do the work of grasping it. And I'm going to give you what I have found to be the "secret" to finding it. God has made it known to you already- at least he's given you the equation and process to determine it.
Here is the mind-blower: Jesus said : Then enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come to give eternal life!.
So right here, we see, you see, that Jesus has a purpose and Satan has a purpose.
One of the key words for Satan in the Bible is Diabolos. It means to cast apart or split. Couple this with his main weapon - deception- (the father of lies), and you can begin to understand how this enemy would NOT want anyone to know their life's purpose. He KNOWS what the world would be like if every one lived according to their life's purpose. He has been stealing killing and destroying it!
But Jesus has come to give us eternal life!! A life that is eternal, a way of life that is perpetually abundant and more importantly truly effective. An ALIVE life.
Two passages are important here as to why God would want to reveal his purpose for your life:
But Jesus has come to give us eternal life!! A life that is eternal, a way of life that is perpetually abundant and more importantly truly effective. An ALIVE life.
Two passages are important here as to why God would want to reveal his purpose for your life:
Rom 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,a whob have been called according to his purpose.
Eph 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
In the passage from Romans you can see that there is benefit to you. The point is that it is good for you to understand God's purpose for your life- that all things in your life work together, for GOOD, when you love God and you have been called according to his purpose for your life. Good means beneficial, profitable, of value, also generous. So loving God and hearing, so as to respond to the "call" of His purpose is beneficial to you, it is Good for you. Because even when you come upon dry times or difficulties, or what appear to be setbacks, you will always have your purpose to guide you to the next task or job. (In my own life, I even had joy during a season of unemployment because my purpose kept me on track, and many times, very well meaning people gave advice to the contrary but I did not waver.) Know this: God's purpose will lead you into all that is good for your life, over time. This brings us to the second passage.
The Ephesians 2:10 verse- You and I are God's workmanship, his created work, which begins at your conception as the DNA join together to begin your life. Your natural gifts and talents are there at that moment. God created you and set a purpose and plan for your life. He has ordained a "life's work" for you based on these talents and aptitude he has provided you and something else I will also discuss in a moment. And I hope you can see that the work God has for you to do is part of HIS plan and purpose for the world------- !! Why else would he take the time?
God's purpose- your life.
So how do you find your purpose? It is simpler than you ever thought . It is just as plain as day. But you are being deceived about this purpose because you have an adversary who knows all to well, what the world would be like if everyone found and lived God's purpose for their lives. So don't be surprised if you have to "press in" to God to finally understand it.
The mystery is now revealed:
Your purpose is the SUM of two things:
1. That genetic skill which you do really well, (your talents and gifts- organize, encourage, speak, build, create, solve) and,
Your purpose is the SUM of two things:
1. That genetic skill which you do really well, (your talents and gifts- organize, encourage, speak, build, create, solve) and,
2. Your passion- that issue or principle or moral or cause or mountain, that you really care about.
When these two things become ONE, a purpose is born and your life begins to take on a seriousness and your work produces a joy that gives life real meaning. When I work with people and they discover their purpose, (yes it is already there), many cry.
Most people think what they do is their purpose. This is a half truth- When what you do well is married to what you truly care about, your have impact and significance that is intrinsic, permanent and directional. And...... you will improve the world.
I will need to write more of this but let me end this post with this process of understanding of how to determine your purpose.
YOUR PURPOSE IS
THE MARRIAGE OF THESE TWO
REMEMBER IN A MARRIAGE--
TWO BECOME ONE
What are you really good at? (skills) What are you Passionate about?
What have you been complimented for? What do you care deeply about?
What have been successful at in life? What cause lights you up?
What comes naturally? What is your moral imperative?
