If not Us, Who?

What is the driving force in the vast majority of businesses? What is the actual motivator?

The answer is Greed. Greed is the primary motive of the "world" system.

As Christians, followers of Christ, we are motivated to SAVE this "world system", what the Bible calls the Cosmos. The material world. We do this by acting intentionally, by basing our business behavior of a purpose that is not GREED based.

What is GREED? Greed is sole self-interest. This is a form of evil, and you can see how acting in one's own sole self-interest is a form of idolatry, of self worship.

There are many successful business and organizational leaders, some of whom lead Christian organizations, who lead this way.

While acting in your self interest is not wrong, acting SOLELY in your own interest is.

Phil 2:3
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4, Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others

For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

So the defining aspect of character of a Chrisitan is that he\she is in "it" for the interests of Christ, which includes ones own interests, and the interests of others.

The question for you as a business owner, operator, executive, is "what are you in it for"?
